IMP Business Club Opening Event
On May 31st, the IMP Business Club, already consisting of a core team of around 15 very active students, hosted the first event at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg.
Around 40 Economics students, primarily from the Integrated Master Program of Economics department, including a large group of Chinese NBS program students, but also from the Diploma program, attended the opening event.
After welcome addresses by IMP Coordinator Mrs. Manuela Moll, who sent best greetings from the IMP Speaker Prof. Oliver Landmann to the auditory, and by IMP Alumni Association Coordinator Mr. Antonio Farfan, the evening went on with a presentation by Mr. Christoph Huber, an alumni of the Economics faculty of the University Freiburg, who currently works as a controller at GE Healthcare. He shared his career experience through an interactive discussion with the auditory, as after graduating from University of Freiburg he held diverse positions as a consultant, auditor and finance manager at KPMG, Ernst & Young and Jamba. During his presentation he pointed out the importance of having a strong network when building up one’s own careerand highlighted in particular that studying economics enables students to analyze presumably complex real world issues in a structured approach after their graduation - exactly what students learn in a highly competitive academic Economics Master program such as the IMP.
We are looking forward to seeing many students at our next event on June 20!
